June 12, I will be leaving for Cambodia and joining some from our church and other churches. I will have the privilege of speaking at the church on Sunday, June 15 and then leading a pastor's conference on June 17-18. The topic this year is Understanding How Scripture Transforms Culture. The Mosaic Law was unique among the ancient law codes in that it reestablished dignity for all levels of creation. Those who had very little or no rights (women, children, slaves, foreigners, etc.) were given dignity under the Law. Not only that, all of creation including animals were given dignity. The Mosaic Law was unique in that it began the process of restoring dignity to those who had none.
